What is a Whoodle?

Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier x Poodle

A Whoodle is a Poodle hybrid that is a cross-breed of a Poodle and a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. Both breeds are hypoallergenic. Therefore the Whoodle will be as well!

Common questions of the Whoodle

What are the health benefits of a Whoodle?

The key to cross breeding to purebred dogs is what is called hybrid vigor, the breeding resulting in a healthier dog with superior genetic constitution can come from dogs purebred for so long that they have common genetic disorders.

What are the personality traits of a Whoodle?

 Whoodles are playful and affectionate

This may be the top reason why Whoodles are one of the best dog breeds. They are so lovable, especially to families with children. Whoodles love playing with children and can get along well with anyone of any age. Because of their non-aggressive nature, children won’t get scared by Whoodles.  Check out our Facebook see play time.

Whoodles are highly intelligent and trainable

Coming from two intelligent breeds of dogs, whoodles tend to be quite smart and easy to train. Training them is easy, you can find that they learn faster than other dog breeds. Potty training is usually easy and they can be trusted in open areas within the house when potty training ends. However, during training, you should follow some simple guidelines. Use plenty of positive reinforcement (such as dog treats and praising) when your Whoodle does something good. (They will do anything for a good treat)

Do Whoodles shed?

Whoodles have a soft, non-shedding coat and are hypoallergenic!

We know having pets can be very messy at times. Fortunately, with a Whoodle you do not have to worry about shedding hair leaving a mess on your furniture and around your house. A Whoodle has a non-shedding coat, just like its parents both parents. This also makes it ideal for those with mild dog allergies, as Whoodles will not affect a dog-allergic owner. With Whoodles, you do not need to worry about fur scattering all over the floor of your home, although you still need to groom them every so often.

How much do they weigh and how big do they get?

The standard Whoodle is a medium sized dog and weighs between 35 and 45 pounds and can be between 19 to 20 inches tall.
